Questions We Hear Often
Wood-fired tubs heat with a stove and suit a rustic, off-grid feel. Portable hot tubs are freestanding and set up without permanent installation, which makes them a good fit for renters or a first hot tub. Full-size spas are a permanent backyard fixture with built-in seating and jets. Start with how many people will use it and how permanent you want the setup to be.
Wood-fired tubs heat by convection through the stove, so they need no power for heat. Portable hot tubs and full-size spas use an electric heater and pump, so check the electrical requirements listed on each product before you order.
It depends on the type. Wood-fired tubs are often drained and refilled every few uses. Portable hot tubs and full-size spas have a filter and pump and use a regular sanitizer routine, so a fill lasts much longer. A cover keeps leaves out and slows evaporation for all of them.
A level, load-bearing base. Water is heavy — a filled hot tub can weigh several thousand pounds — so use a concrete pad, a properly compacted gravel base, or a deck rated for that load. For wood-fired tubs, keep the stove and flue clear of anything combustible and check your local rules on open fire before you site it.
About Our Hot Tubs
Our hot tubs fall into three groups. Wood-fired tubs are the simplest: a stove, a chimney and the natural flow of water through the heater, with no control board to maintain. Portable hot tubs are freestanding units that set up without permanent installation and can move with you. Full-size spas are a permanent addition to the backyard, with molded seating and jets.
Choosing one comes down to capacity, how permanent you want the setup to be, and where it will sit. Whatever you choose, plan for a level, load-bearing base, confirm delivery access to your site, and check your local rules before you order.
