Recovery, Explained
Recovery equipment is a considered purchase, and most of the information around it is written to sell rather than to explain. This library is our attempt at the opposite. Each article covers one modality we carry: what it is, what it actually does in your body, what the research supports, and — just as important — what the research does not support.
We name the studies. We give the numbers. Where the evidence is thin, we say so plainly rather than reaching for a softer word. You are spending real money on equipment that will live in your home for a decade, and you deserve to know which claims are load-bearing and which are marketing.

How to read this library
Every article labels its evidence in the same way, so you can compare across modalities:
- Well supported — multiple human trials or a large long-term study, pointing consistently in the same direction.
- Mixed — real trials exist, but results are inconsistent, or the benefits are narrower than the marketing suggests.
- Thin — little human evidence, or a health authority has publicly said the evidence is lacking.
You will find all three labels in this library, including on products we sell. That is deliberate.
Planning a setup?
Most of the questions we field are not about benefits at all — they are about ceiling height, ventilation, electrical service, door swing, delivery access, and who installs the thing. If you are further along than reading, tell us about your space and we will work through it with you before you commit to anything.
The information in this library is for general education only and is not medical advice. Luxury Recovery Sanctuary sells wellness equipment; we do not diagnose, treat, or offer treatment for any medical condition, and nothing here is intended to do so. Heat and cold exposure place real stress on the cardiovascular system. Talk to your physician before beginning sauna, cold immersion, contrast, or light therapy — particularly if you are pregnant, have heart disease, high or low blood pressure, or take medication that affects blood pressure, heart rate, or sweating. Never use a cold plunge alone. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for your specific equipment.
